The house

The house dates back to 1947 and was completely renovated between 2018 - 2020. It is a charming house of traditional Portuguese architecture consisting of 9 bedrooms, an open kitchen to the dining room, a very comfortable living room, a common room all glazed with splendid views over the Vale de Arruda, Serra da Estrela, and Serra do Caramulo. The house has full central heating, underfloor heating on the ground floor, and several fireplaces/wood stoves. The concept of restoring the house was to respect its original structure while adopting the comfort of a modern house. Awakening the house from its thirty-year slumber and giving it back its deserved sparkle.

The Esporão stream crosses the estate, and in a more remote part of the house, its tranquil bed penetrates through a canyon forming "Os Caldeiroes." The beautiful landscape and the sound of the rushing waters are breathtaking. In one of the stream's ponds, its waters invite anyone to refresh themselves in them during the hot summer months. For those who wish to stay closer to the house, they can walk to the water mine "Fonte dos Amores" or to the Secret Garden. This Garden was where villagers used to come to fetch water. This water was known to have healing properties for gastrointestinal problems and was once certified by the Portuguese Thermal Baths.
